So, we all know now (and most of us knew before we started given the first term), this administration is horrible, set on destroying our primary systems, and pretty useless. From Trump and his dementia, to Hegseth and the “Department of War” that clearly has no idea what he’s doing, including putting our soldiers in harms way, to ICE, to Hasset saying the economy is good because people are taking on credit card debt.

I’ll be honest, we can blame people like Miller. We can lash out calling people Nazis, which, while an apt description, people will rebel against; same with fascism. But in the end, even protesting is doing little (I am NOT saying don’t, we should, but) the effect is less than working well when the administration truly doesn’t care what citizens think as long as most police forces, ICE, and the US Military (at least large parts) are backing this administration. This includes the GOP rank and file. They control the pieces that can put down true rebellion.

So, what do we do? Well, we do continue what we’re doing. We fight against the gerrymandering. We ignore the pressure at the polls (which, does seem we’ll get elections, though whether they are upheld or not is to be seen). I believe we will see POC pulled from polling lines and threatened as immigrants to keep actual voting numbers depressed. This is part of the pressure of not allowing mail-in votes. It not only disenfranchises many people on the left, but it also allows the intimidation and interference we are sure to see at the polls. So, help your POC citizens when this happens. Keep reaching out to your senators to keep pressure on them to do something.

We will get through this. And when we do, we need to ensure it can never happen again. Our system, top to bottom has broken. It didn’t take just the last 10 years. It has been going on, changing, morphing, and pushing for the same goal for 30+ years. From stacking the courts when Republicans are in charge, to blocking court nominations when Democrats are in charge. From normalizing “we need to cut programs, we need to cut our socialist programs” which essentially does nothing for society OR our debt. These are not the areas that are creating the problems.
